Pioneer Drilling was established by the present owners, Richard & Suzie Goldsworthy in 1982 and for 15 years traded as Whitsunday Drilling Company.
Starting with a cable tool drilling rig the partners soon progressed to a rotary rig in 1984. Operations initially centred on water boring but soon branched out to include exploration programmes for coal and gold: de-watering and installation of monitoring bores at coal mines and coal handling facilities.
By 1998 geotechnical & environmental drilling dominated operations and Rockhampton was chosen as a centralized base for operations and the trading name changed to Pioneer Drilling Company to reflect the move away from the Whitsunday area.
The Company is a proud member of the Australian Drilling Industry Association. The partners are committed to quality workmanship and service and are continually upgrading and investing in new equipment, staff training and qualifications.
